Change Your Thinking

Good morning and happy Tuesday! I don’t know about you, but I am always SO happy once Monday is over. Once that first day of the week is over, then the rest of the week seems more manageable and I always feel like I can start looking forward to the weekend :)

Although, I have to admit, this is not how I want to live. I feel like I am wasting my life away by always just muddling through the day to get closer to a weekend. It makes me miss out on simple pleasures, and lets life pass me by.

Honestly, though, sometimes it’s hard to not get through the week by looking forward to the weekend, and I know that even for people who love what they do, there are obviously going to be days where they don’t want to go to work. But, with a little bit of positive thinking, those days can be much more manageable.

You see, yesterday I had a long day. I came home exhausted, dreading the rest of the week, and very grumpy. As soon as I finish this post I am heading into a 12 hour workday. I still have that test that is due Friday at noon looming over my head. My emails are piling up. All I want is to get this week over with so I can have a day to catch up on things for me. But you know what? Counting down to the weekend is not going to make this week any easier. So I am going to put on my big girl pants, put a smile on my face, and be thankful for all the many wonderful people and opportunities I do have in my life. Oh, and a killer sweat sesh this morning helped too ;)

MAKE it a great one, everyone!

Cheers,

L

Also, a very happy birthday to my wonderful friend, Marisa! She is turning 23 today and is one of my biggest cheerleaders and supporters! She gets to spend her birthday doing finals for her organic chemistry PhD program at UCSB. Bleh! Wish her luck and a happy birthday! She’s a rock star :)
